                                                  "Why I Need the Knowledge of English”.

The importance of foreign languages has greatly increased lately. Many young people are interested now in getting the knowledge of mostly the English language. I think the study of the English language is very interesting and useful for everybody.
I need the knowledge of English too. Now it is time for me to think about my future. I am going to finish school with good marks, to pass my school exams and to enter the University or the Institute.
When you are young, it is very interesting for you to learn new information about things in the world. When I grow up, I would like to travel to foreign countries, to visit places of interest, to talk to people, to make friends with some of them. I am going to visit a lot of English – speaking countries. I would like to listen to the modern American speech, because it differs so much from the English speech we have got used to. It will be interesting for me to compare different variants of the English language spoken in various countries myself.
When you leave school, you understand that the time to choose your future profession has come. It is not an easy task to make the right choice of a job. I have known for a long time that leaving school is the beginning of my independent life, the beginning of a far more serious examination of my abilities and character. More and more people realize that every educated person should know a foreign language. No matter what I will be in the future, I know quite well just now I must know English perfectly.
Though I live in a little town, I can use my knowledge of the language too. There are a lot of interesting jobs which require the knowledge of English. One of the ways to use it is to become a teacher of English. I know that it is very difficult to become a good teacher. You should know the subject you teach perfectly. You must be well – educated and well – informed. A good teacher develops in his pupils the burning desire to know and love the truth and beauty. If you are a teacher of English, you must teach your pupils all these things with the help of the English language.
I live in Alexandrov, a historic town with a number of museums and monuments. Among them is our Alexandrov Kremlin, the former residence of some Russian tsars. Now tourists from different countries visit this place to admire old architecture and to learn more about Russian history. If you speak English well, you can talk to them easily, show foreign visitors that Russia is a great highly developed cultural and industrial country, and even small towns play a very important role in its advancement.
There are different organizations and enterprises in our town. Many of them have foreign partners. It is impossible to contact with them without the English language. As to me, I would like to learn the profession of an interpreter, because I want to help my town to have cultural, industrial and business connections with many other countries. I believe that it must help Alexandrov to become a more important town of Russia and one of cultural and industrial centers of our country.
I am fond of reading books and watching films in English. Reading books in English is very useful for the person who studies it. It can enrich the vocabulary greatly. If you watch films in this language, you may hear the voices of famous actors, but if you watch films in your own language, you may hear the voices of other people who have dubbed this film.
If you have a computer, you may write to your foreign pen – friends on the Internet. Moreover, English is one of the most important languages of international communication. A lot of devices have instructions in the English language. If you want them to serve you for a long time, you should understand the instructions correctly. English can help you with it.
There are very many languages in the world, but people use the English language more often than others. This language is used everywhere on our planet. Now it is a necessary and important part of our modern life. It can help to exchange knowledge and experience between people of different nations, to find the way to protect Earth from ecological disaster and to stop terrorism and wars everywhere.
